Selected competition for a concert hall extension
in collaboration with Sujets Objets
Renens, 2024

The Salle de spectacles de Renens is defined by a subtle classical modernism: a composition of distinct primary volumes linked by recessed serving spaces. The project extends this logic through the addition of a compact tower at the north-west corner, accommodating rehearsal rooms and administration. Two lower volumes connect it to the existing building: one hosts the new concert hall, while the other provides a dedicated delivery space.

The existing and new halls can be opened onto one another, creating a porous east–west axis through the site. In doing so, the distinctive vegetation of the neighbourhood, its arboretum, are drawn together into a continuous spatial sequence.

During opening hours, the tower lifts its skirt and welcomes guests.
