July 2023 – Visit to the Furkapass with friends from Georgia.

A mandatory look at the OMA refurbishment and Daniel Buren’s shutters – kind of an alpine pilgrimage.

In front of the Koolhaas entrance, a 4-meter long Absperrlatte – construction fence. Accidental juxtaposition, the purely aesthetic and carefully painted 8,7cm stripes of Buren and the straightforward planks of pine in Verkehrsweiss and Signalrot.

Accidental juxtaposition and implicit resonance to the hotel and its dependance. We said – the dependance also deserves its pretty shutters, yet in its own pragmatic and laidback way. We’ll come back next year with some Absperlatten in the trunk and spend a few days up there assembling shutters.

August 2024 – A week up at the Furkapass to build shutters – or an excuse to spend some days together spotting marmottes.
